Hi, I’m Lauren
I’m a biomedical illustrator with a strong foundation in both science and art, currently pursuing my Master’s in Biomedical Communications at the University of Toronto.
My academic background and personal interests have always been a balance between these two worlds—my science knowledge deepening my appreciation of nature and the human body, while visual arts helped me present research and approach problems in creative ways. Over time, I realized how artistic skills could enhance scientific communication, making complex medical concepts more accessible and engaging for both the public and healthcare professionals.
As a scientific visualizer and designer, I’m particularly passionate about creating visual solutions that bridge the gap between the scientific community and the public in ways that are inclusive and accessible—especially in an age of rampant misinformation.
Outside of work and academics, I enjoy reading with hot chocolate, petting cats and dogs (despite my allergies), and hiking the beautiful west coast mountains.
